Online Therapy for Adoptive and Foster Families Across Florida
Specialized, trauma-informed care from home, anywhere in Florida
Finding a therapist who truly understands adoption and foster care is hard. Finding one near you can be even harder. Online therapy brings specialized, trauma-informed care to your family wherever you live in Florida, from Jacksonville to Miami to the Panhandle.
What We Help With
- Adoption and foster care adjustment
- Attachment and trust challenges
- Trauma, grief and early loss
- Big behaviors, meltdowns and anxiety
- Parent stress, burnout and feeling stuck
- Families navigating court or child welfare involvement
How Online Sessions Work
Sessions take place by secure video from your home. Parents, children and teens can join together or separately, depending on what your family needs. Maxine uses the same tools online that she uses in the office, including Brainspotting, TBRI-based parenting strategies and Polyvagal-informed regulation skills.
What to Expect in Your First Session
Your first session is a chance to get to know each other. Maxine will listen to your family’s story, ask what has been hardest lately, and learn what you hope will change. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. Together, you’ll decide on next steps. That might be sessions for your child, for you as a parent, or for the whole family.
What You’ll Need
- A quiet, private space where you won’t be interrupted
- A phone, tablet or computer with a camera
- A steady internet connection
- For younger children, a parent close by to help them settle in
