Love is not always enough on its own

You give your child safety, routine and love. But they push you away, test every boundary, or seem to wait for you to give up on them.

For a child who has lost a family before, closeness can feel dangerous. Their behavior is a survival strategy that once kept them safe.

Adoption-Competent Parenting helps you understand that strategy, and gently show your child that this time is different.

Inside the course

  • Module 1: Understanding the adopted or fostered brain
  • Module 2: Building felt safety
  • Module 3: TBRI in daily life
  • Module 4: Co-regulation in the hard moments
  • Module 5: The long haul: grief, identity, belonging and sustaining yourself

Along the way you'll learn:

  • How early loss and trauma shape attachment
  • Building trust with a child who expects to be let down
  • Talking about adoption, birth family and identity with confidence
  • Repairing the relationship after hard days

Learn on your own schedule
